Teaching the teachers - a good philosophy, and how we work.
AIMS English, LLC is an educational company for teachers of adult English language learners.
AIMS English is a communicative approach to English teaching that can enhance what an English program is already doing, giving teachers new ideas for working with students. Or, AIMS English can provide a framework for a new English program. In either case, our goal is a transformative experience for the ELL teacher and students.
AIMS English offers training for groups of 10 to 20 teachers in four systems that address listening, speaking, reading and writing. Easy to learn and use, the research-based AIMS systems were first designed for adults and have been successfully adapted for children. They work equally well in multilevel and leveled classrooms. We consult with program directors and teachers to help us understand exactly what each program wants, and design training accordingly.
The four systems are: Attribute Cards for speaking and listening; Message Design for writing, listening and speaking; Book Club for reading, speaking and listening; and Interactive Journals for writing and speaking.
